I haven’t quite got the gist of Twitter yet. I am an old person, almost like Hermiony Vidalia Criony Fiddlestadt in my cozy mysteries. I love Twitter but it made me mad recently because it wouldn’t let me follow any more people. Apparently I had reached my limit because my ratio to following wasn’t keeping up with my followers. Who knew? Apparently there is a Twitter law.
It gave me suggestions and one of them was to unfollow some of the people I am following. I unfollowed many people who weren’t following me so I could follow the people who were following me. The song “I Will Follow Him” sang by Peggy March back in the 60’s as I was following and unfollowing came to mind.
As a writer of Cozy Mysteries I follow many Cozy Authors and other interesting people. I don’t usually follow anyone that offers me twitter followers. I like to get them on my own. Supposedly Twitter will help me sell books and promote myself as an author. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t, but all I know is that I am learning about becoming a follower and not a leader. When I was in school they told us that it was better to be a leader than a follower.
If you were someone I was following and you see that I unfollowed you, it was because you weren’t following me and Twitter told me I needed to let you go, even though I liked what you had to say, but I guess I will have to wait until another day, because I’ve reached my limit, and it won’t let me follow you for another minute.
See I am like character in my books, Hermiony Vidalia Criony Fiddlestadt better known as Granny, who thinks she is a poet and I guess so do I, or at least I try.
You’ll find me on Twitter .
