Any Meat In That Soup? by Jerilyn Dufresne

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book immensely. It had humor, surprises, a cast of characters that kept you guessing who dun it and an amateur sleuth that you couldn’t help but like along with her furry friend Clancy. This is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be my last. Since it takes place in a hospital it could make you wonder what really goes on behind the scenes with the doctors and nurses. Fun read.

Review: Under an English Heaven: An Ellie Kent Mystery

Under an English Heaven: An Ellie Kent Mystery by Alice K. Boatwright

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book reminded me of the Mitford Series by Jan Karon which I loved. It has all the elements of a comfortable Cozy Mystery. Taking place in a small English Village it had interesting characters and a mystery that kept me guessing. The writer makes us feel comfortable and at home in the setting and the book. It had that cozy feel. Why only four stars? That is a reader perspective not to reflect on the writer. I like a little cliffhanger suspense and this was a comfortable easy read which kept me reading but missing the cliff. This book is well -written by a gifted author and I would highly recommend it.
