The pieces all come together brilliantly in Julie Seedorf’s new Penderghast Puzzle Protectors series.” – Barbara Jean Coast, author of the Poppy Cove Mystery series
“The Penderghast Puzzle Protectors is a delightful cozy mystery, filled with a cast of endearingly quirky characters. It had me guessing–mostly wrong–until the very end, and it kept me laughing and happily turning pages all the way through. A puzzling, clean mystery that is simply hilarious. You won’t want to miss it. –Jane Firebaugh, Author of The White Mountains Romantic Mystery Series
“A ‘Brilliant’ beginning to a charming new cozy series from Minnesota author Julie Seedorf. I thoroughly enjoyed unraveling the multiple mysteries alongside the Penderghast Puzzle Protectors. –Timya Owen President, Twin Cities Sisters in Crime.

 It’s HERE!

Good Morning. I am happy to announce that my new book The Penderghast Puzzle Protectors is now available.

Writing a new series was a challenge for me as I am so invested in my characters from Fuchsia. It’s hard to top Granny and I felt the Brilliant Minnesota Series still needed a little of the quirkiness of Fuchsia but in a different way.

In the Penderghast Puzzle Protectors you will meet Jezabelle Jingle and her neighbors. They too, have a little snark, a little silliness and a puzzle to solve which includes dead bodies, making a ton of trouble for the local police all the while hopefully endearing themselves to their readers. I hope you will join me in the new series. But never fear Granny will always be near. Brilliant and Jezabelle have ties to Fuchsia. And another Fuchsia Mystery is being written, so while you are waiting, check out the Brilliant Minnesota Series and follow the puzzle that may lead you to the spoils.

Comment on this post as I am giving away two Kindle copies of my new book and a signed copy of the paperback.  Make sure you also visit Lisa K’s blog today as she is also highlighting the Penderghast Puzzle Protectors and has a giveaway running. The   Comment on our two sites and my facebook page and you might be a lucky winner.

My Heart is With My Granddaughter!

I love my grandchildren. This year I decided on each of their birthdays I will post a special blog about them. I know they don’t like to be in the spotlight but I want them to know how special they are to me.

Today is my Granddaughter’s  13th Birthday. I remember her tiny beginnings. She was our first grandchild and I jumped up and down with screams when I knew I was going to be a Grandmother and then panic set in. What did I know about being a Grandmother?

I remember when we got the call  she was here. I was overwhelmed by joy and love for a tiny being I hadn’t yet met.  A few days after her birth we were able to travel and meet her. She was the cutest, sweetest little angel I had ever seen. The first few days were a little challenging. There was a problem with milk and so she was a little temperamental and was awake and crying, making her displeasure known. Four of us grandparents camped in a tiny house along with her parents and took turns, holding her, singing to her, rocking her and loving her. She could do no wrong in our eyes. And there was another blessing during the time and it was the blessing of four grandparents forming a friendship that continues today. It seems like yesterday.

As she grew we rejoiced over every little accomplishment she made, her first words, her first steps and the first time she could say Grandma and Grandpa. Her twinkling eyes and cheerful spirits always make our days brighter.

I wish children could remember their early years and all the love they received from the special people in their lives and the special moments that were shared. They will only live on by the stories we tell, planting in their hearts memories that last forever.

My granddaughter is lucky because she has two very special parents who raised her and nurtured her into the beautiful young lady she has become. I am so proud of them and of her. She used to wake up in the morning and always remark, “It’s going to be a beautiful day.” My wish for her is that she can do that every day of her life no matter how old she becomes.

So Happy Birthday Ms Teenager. I wish you the joys of growth, the strength to get through the hills and valleys that accompany the teenage years and the wisdom to know the choices you are making for yourself are right for you. But most of all I want you to know you are so loved and you always will be.

Authors and Editors, We Need One Another!

love my editorsI love writing and when I write my creativity takes me along

with the story and I get lost in it, not caring about comma’s etc. I put comma’s in the wrong places, forget to use quotation marks and forget about correct sentence structure. I check my finished work and try to clean it up, but usually it is a mess. That is where my editors come in.

I want to highlight two people who work magic with my books. One is my publisher and editor plus being an author, Patricia Rockwell. When my manuscript for Cozy Cat Press cropped-ccplogonegative-e1433524649126.jpgis ready I send it in and she crosses the t’s, dots the i’s and makes me look better. She does this for all of her authors at Cozy Cat Press as she is the owner and publisher of the company.

Another person I rely on is D.A. Sarac and The Editing Pen. 1f71c0_74832be138cf469cb3612d72986d5b76I always feel it is good to have more than one set of eyes so I have her edit my independent books I publish under Hermiony Vidalia Books and the books I send to Cozy Cat Press. She has become invaluable to me. In fact, she too makes me look good. My new book The Penderghast Puzzle Protectors was  a mess when it came to comma’s and quotation marks. You would think I would learn but in my excitement and haste I miss many things and I hate editing and Annie Sarac loves editing.

Not only has The Editing Pen been invaluable to me with editing, she has also helped me with my promotions. An author needs to write, edit and promote and it is exhausting and so we ask for help. The Editing Pen offers a wide variety of services and support for authors.

I did try at one time to publish without an editor and it was a big mistake. I have learned my lesson. Every author you read, hopefully has a good editor in their back pocket. I am lucky to have two.

My new book will be featured here on Monday, so stay tuned, sign up to follow this blog  and for my newsletter where you can find the sign-up on julieseedorf.com.

For me this is thank an editor day. I just made it up. Thank you Patricia Rockwell and D. A. Sarac. You are the trick I carry in my back pocket to help my career be successful. And I would guess you would love to edit the post and all my snafu’s.

If you have an editor out there you love, leave a comment. I will choose one lucky winner to receive a surprise. And if you are a reader and don’t have an editor, make a comment anyway. I love to hear from you. And make sure you check back to see if you have won.

It’s Happy Editor’s Friday. Thank an Editor.
