Review: If Fried Chicken Could Fly

If Fried Chicken Could Fly
If Fried Chicken Could Fly by Paige Shelton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This mystery had me with the first lines of the book. A cooking school and an interesting old woman that has a quirky personality and keeps her family on her toes kept me reading. I could almost taste the fried chicken. What happens when Gram finds a dead body in her cooking school? And who helps her solve the crime? Not who you would suspect. This book has a snappy mystery along with a cast of characters that will leave you chuckling and reading. A fun mystery. Oh, and you will want to try the recipes in the back of the book.

Review: Dead Wrong

Dead Wrong
Dead Wrong by Leighann Dobbs
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An idle threat, we all make them. A dead body and over zealous law enforcement. What more could one want in a mystery? This book has it all. A quaint town, a shop that makes a reader want to visit and sample their herbs or crystals, a cunning cat, an attic of secrets and characters everyone will love. All that in a mystery that will keep you reading and hanging on every word. An enjoyable and mysterious read.

Review: Bats and Bones

Bats and Bones
Bats and Bones by Karen Musser Nortman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was an easy and fun read. When I say easy, I mean comfortable, where you want to keep on reading. You feel at home with the characters and the stories. You can imagine the people and what they look like in your mind. You can imagine their moves and you can see the setting and feel yourself there. The mystery was good with a surprise ending. This was the first book I read by the author but it won’t be my last.
