The words from the song “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” keeps reverberating through my mind this afternoon.
Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart fell lonely
And long for heaven and home
The song written in 1905 by Civilla D. Martin and Composer Charles Gabriel seems to tap into my feelings today.
We all have days like that when we are discouraged. When the bills and work get to be too much. When illness visits our home. When life is quiet and we have too much time to feel lonely or to worry, we become discouraged.
We are to remember that in these times God has his eye on us. When we are discouraged we turn to him.
Today is one of those days. I know he watches me. I will sing again. I will laugh again. I will hold on to those words. But for today, I will meet my discouragement where it is and let it go. I will hold on to those words and remember tomorrow is another day.
